2.14.2.14. Configure mail in Joomla!
- Go to "System → General settings" and open the "Server" tab:

- In the "Mail setup" section, specify the following data:

- "Mail sending" — set the switch to "Yes" to allow sending emails.
- "Disable mailing" — make sure that the switch is set to "No". The "Yes" position disables bulk mailing.
- "Site e-mail" — specify the mailbox to which messages should be delivered.
- "Email sender" — specify the sender's name.
- "Reply to email" — specify the mailbox to which replies should be sent (it will be inserted into the
Reply-toheader). - "Reply to name" — specify the recipient's name when replying to an email sent by the site.
- "Sending method" — select the required sending method:

- "PHP Mail" Not recommended method
- "Sendmail" Not recommended method:
- "Path to Sendmail" —
/usr/sbin/sendmail.
- "SMTP" Recommended method — sending emails by connecting to an existing mailbox (if the mailbox used for sending is hosted with us, you need to use the connection details):

- "SMTP server" — address of the mail server.
- "SMTP server port" — port for connecting to the mail server —
465,25or2525. - "SMTP protection" — if you specified port 465, select "SSL"; if 25 or 2525, select "None".
- "SMTP server authorization" — "Yes".
- "SMTP username" — full name of the mailbox from which sending will be performed.
- "Password for SMTP" — password for the email account.
- Click "Send test message" to test the configured settings.
